CHILDREN from Gospel Oak Primary School took pride of place on top of the winners’ podium after being crowned champions at the Sportshall Athletics Championships.

Held at the Somers Town Sports Centre in Chalton Street, 11 schools entered two teams each in the annual showpiece. It was the boys and girls from Mansfield Road who were celebrating as they retained their title having once again proudly boasted the best young athletes in the borough.

There was also a cheer for pupils from Richard Cobden Primary School (top) in Camden Street after they were presented with the Special Team Award for their attitude and sporting spirit.

The tournament was organised by the Camden Schools Sports Association and supported by Camden Sport and Physical Activity Team and volunteers from the NVQ programme.
