IF you’re a goose that lays the golden eggs, where better to be than a high street bank?

A Canada Goose spent three hours in the Camden Town branch of Nationwide on Saturday after wandering-in through the front door at 10am.

Stunned staff looked after the waterfowl in the back away from customers while the RSPCA were called by shopper Adriana Greagsbey.

“It just strolled into the bank,” she said. “It must have come from Regent’s Park – if it came from Camden Lock, it would have had to walk all the way down Camden High Street, on a Saturday.

“There was lots of interest, it’s Camden Town … A lot of people were saying they wanted to eat it. I was worried about it and it had a limp and so I called the RSPCA. Parents should teach their children how to behave around animals.”

Ms Greagsbsy said she and another passer by carried the goose to the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital, part of the Royal Veterinary College in Royal College Street, Camden Town.
