Good luck Alderman Robinson

Thursday, 9th December 2021

• I MET Roger Robinson when I first joined Camden as a councillor in 2006 and Roger was the first member of the Labour group I met, (It’s Roger Robinson… the alderman! December 2).

My first impressions of him were that he was a very decent fellow and a totally dedicated councillor simply willing to help and give advice to those in need including a “green-behind-the-ears” Tory.

The years passed by and I always enjoyed being in his company, particularly in the members’ room. I have enormous respect for him and to his commitment to the council, disabled groups of all types and, of course, his military past.

One wonders what Labour are at deselecting Roger; with such a large majority they could have let the Town Hall legend Roger Robinson decide in his own time when to stand down.

All that said, I hope Alderman Robinson takes every opportunity to use his reserved seating on many, many, occasions. Good luck alderman.

Camden Councillor (2006/2014)
