THE Golden Lion were given a dramatic lifeline in their battle to avoid relegation on Monday when they beat King’s Cross Hawks in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League.

An edgy last frame decider saw several attempts on the black missed before Mark Walton finally made the pot to earn Lions a nail-biting 5-4 victory.
