GOLDEN girl Sophia Parvizi-Wayne admitted she “loves running for Camden” after winning the London Youth Games Cross-Country Championships on Saturday at Parliament Hill Fields.

Sophia completed the testing and hilly 3,000m course in 10 mins, 33 secs to strike gold, finishing just one second ahead of Camden team-mate Georgia Fear in the girls’ Under-17s race.

The beaming gold-medallist said: “I competed in the cross-country last year but I suffered an injury while running and came third. I love competing for Camden.

“It’s nice to keep in touch with people you’ve known for a long time. Some of the people I’ve been running with since I was eight years old, so it’s pretty cool.”
