It might only have been a friendly, but when sister clubs Highgate and Pro Touch Soccer Academy went head-to-head on Saturday supporters were treated to net-busting “masterclass”
THE Under-8s sides posted their contender for game of the season as the battled out a thrilling 6-6 draw at Regent’s Park. The Pro Touch goal trail was led by Anes Merabet, who scored twice. Arian Jakupi, Diogo Casimiro, Thayne Myrie and Caden Moises were also on target their team. Not to be outdone, Highgate’s goal-scoring heroes were Barney Pinder, Buddy Deeney, Leon Thompson, Lucas McGuiness, Noah Brogan and Odhran Donnelly.
Reflecting on the striking supershow Pro Touch head coach Carlos Santos said: “Obviously we take the art of defending very seriously, and I don’t want to see our sides leaking goals.
“But sometimes you just have to enjoy the game for what it is, and on Saturday that was a masterclass of creativity and finishing.”
