• THANK you for publishing Nasser Kamali’s story (Starbucks vs Star Box, March 16).

It was interesting to hear about this brave David & Goliath incident. If the bullying Starbucks had not threatened Star Box Coffee his enterprise would not have gained the credit it so richly deserves. I’ll make a special effort to visit it regularly now.

Starbucks has always been a source of loathing for me with its over-priced goods and ubiquitous outlets which dominate our pretty village streets. The almighty dollar has done more damage than can be estimated to our safety and fair trade.

I would rather have the socialist Star Box than them any day!
