The reality of rough sleeping, Tottenham Court Road [Linda Grove]

• WE need Camden to make the empty council housing available for our local residents, families waiting for years to have a home of their own and the ever growing number of homeless folk on our streets, (Hundreds of council flats standing unused amid housing crisis, November 7).

It was no good just releasing prisoners onto the street without any kind of support system, these people will simply end up back in jail sooner than later and what does it say for our society when we can’t look after our most vulnerable folk?

Camden has a duty of care to these folk on our streets and the many families who are waiting to be housed. Give a person shelter and they can start to get their lives back together, they simple can’t sleeping on the street.
