THREE young gymnasts were beaming with pride this week after earning the right to represent London at the national finals in Birmingham next month.

Erin Scarano, 13, Artemis Saddington, 14, and Noemi Seminara, 11, all finished in the top five of their individual grade competitions in a challenging event held at Heathrow Gymnastics Club.

Along with displaying their skills on the floor, bars, beam and vault, the Camden Gym Club members also had to prove their range and conditioning, which tests strength and flexibility.

Artemis finished second overall in her national age group to scoop silver, while Noemi won bronze. Debutant Ella Rae Quist, 7, also bagged a bronze medal in her regional competition.

Overall the Camden club, which is based at the Talacre Sports Centre in Kentish Town, took a team of 22 to Heathrow. Head coach Karen Waldron said: “I’m immensely proud of all the girls, they trained really hard and that hard work paid off. I’m thrilled to have three representatives at the national finals."
