ARSENAL Ladies will carry the ghosts of club legends past on their shoulders for the remainder of the season following a good luck message from a very special supporter.
Thierry Henry dropped by to deliver an inspirational talk at the club’s London Colney training complex – and he clearly wasn’t alone. For beaming down from the corridor walls were the spectral faces of Arsenal heroes, who got in on the act too, with the likes of Jens Lehmann, Robert Pires, Ray Parlour and Freddie Ljungberg all photobombing the special moment.
Henry spoke to the players about what it takes to get to the top of the game, match preparation, football philosophy, and the importance of playing as a team. His pep-talk worked a treat – with the ladies beating Liverpool 2-0 days later to keep their faint hopes of winning the Women’s Super League title alive.
