Gary Oldman and Slow Horses crew set up in Hampstead
Passers-by offered chance to be extras

Gary Oldman was in Hampstead for his Slow Horses’ role of Jackson Lamb
FOR spies, they are not doing a great job of being inconspicuous. In fact, there was not much covert at all about the arrival of Slow Horses – Apple TV’s hit show about bumbling secret service agents – in Hampstead on Friday.
The makers of a fifth series have been closing off roads and pavements across Camden over the past few weeks, from Bloomsbury to Camden High Street and now, that familiar trodden path for camera crews, Flask Walk in Hampstead.
Gary Oldman, in the lead role of disgruntled boss Jackson Lamb, was following in the footsteps of Renee Zellwegger who had been in the exact same spot last summer for scenes of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, which reaches cinemas this weekend.
The star actor wore a sensible body-warmer coat during breaks in filming, and was seen at The Flask pub and also near the Waterstone’s bookshop on Hampstead High Street.
The production team was supplemented with extras selected impromptu from passers-by.

One onlooker, Emma Fraser, said: “I’m basically a super fan. When I heard they were filming in Hampstead, I don’t live too far away. So I had to come by and see it for myself. I’m just planting myself on Flask Walk waiting for a glimpse of Gary Oldman.”
She added: “My dad may come by too. I watch the show with all my family.”

Gary Manders, another local, said: “I don’t watch the show myself but my dad loves it. I’ve come out to get a picture of Gary walking about. It’s amazing you can just stand on the side and the crew allow you to watch. I didn’t realise it worked like that.”
