FRIENDS, relatives and colleagues yesterday (Wednesday) paid their respects at the funeral of the former Camden mayor, Sadashivrao Deshmukh, who died earlier this month. Known by most simply as “Desh”, the former Labour councillor served two consecutive terms as the borough’s first citizen from 1995. The current mayor, Richard Cotton, said “thoughts and prayers are with his family”.
