FOUR-GOAL hero Joe Seals led Crouch End Rangers to a thrilling 5-3 win over title rivals Surreal Madrid at the weekend in Division One of the Camden Sunday League
Rangers got off to a flying start and found themselves 3-0 up within the opening 20 minutes of the match. A good though-ball from Tim Lunn sent Seals through on goal and the hotshot coolly finished from a tight angle to open the scoring.
Within minutes the lead had doubled as Ramon Chaves linked up with Dan Hall, who took a great touch before firing the ball into the top corner.
It looked like it was going to be a case of how many when Chaves played another neat pass for Seals to grab his second of the game. But Madrid launched a blistering comeback and showed why they are one of the top teams in the division as they hit back to level the scores at 3-3 in what was proving to be a pulsating encounter.
But the day was only ever going to belong to one man as the on-fire Seals scored twice in as many minutes to put the game beyond Madrid.
The Hurricanes and champions Cobden Athletic kept up the pressure on Rangers at the top of the table.
Cobden didn’t have to go beyond first gear against MDM. They took the lead after only 12 minutes when Lee O’Driscoll smashed in from just outside the box after MDM failed to clear a corner. Patrick Jones doubled the lead before Kaleb King set-up Winston Fowler to make it 3-0 after only 25 minutes.
Patrick Jones then took centre stage as he went on to complete his hat-trick and secure a convincing 5-2 victory.
Meanwhile The Hurricanes ran out 4-0 winners against Dinamo Dorigo.
