Formidable framers go for high five

REIGNING doubles champions Sonny Saunders (pictured left) and Danny James (right) from the Sir Robert Peel edged a step closer to winning the title for the fifth year in a row on Monday in the Chalk Farm Pool League.

The premier pairing knocked out Sovereign duo Tommy Edwards and Colin Aus tin at the Cock Tavern in Somers Town.

Sir Robert Peel team-mates Tom Boylan and Mike Batson, Darren Naylor and John Roberts from the Gloucester Globetrotters, Danny Fry and Kevin Howard from the Boston Arms and Tony Bradberry and Andrew Baker from the King’ Cross Hurricanes also all progressed.

In the singles last year’s winner Neil Faux made it safely into to the quarter-finals, while in the seniors championship the Sir Robert Peel ‘B’ team are going strong with George Larner and Mick Mick Gilligan into the final eight.
