Ian Vaculik and Claire-Louise Leyland enjoy their honeymoon
SEALED with a kiss… Claire-Louise Leyland had Victorian prime minister William Gladstone watching over her as she was married on Friday.
The former leader of Camden Conservatives wed partner Ian Vaculik at the National Liberal Club. Ms Leyland, who stepped down in May after eight years representing Belsize ward, said: “I found my time as a councillor in Camden so interesting and rewarding, but it is lovely to have time to focus on my family now. It was inspiring to be part of such an engaged community.”
The big day
Ms Leyland, a child therapist who was the Tory parliamentary candidate in Hampstead and Kilburn last year, added: “Our residents, local businesses, community groups and local councillors were all happy to put aside their differences in order to work together to do what was best for Camden.”
The happy couple have been honeymooning in Malta this week.
