Players and coaches from Lyndhurst FC netted their best goal of the season when they completed a charity run at the Emirates Stadium
Taking a break from the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League, the sponsored squad (above) raised over a £1,000 for the Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s charity.
Boys from the under-9s team completed five laps around Arsenal’s famous home ground, while under-11s and under-14s players ran eight laps.
The triumphant team are visiting the hospital off Russell Square on Monday to hand over a giant cheque for £1,090, and manager Bobby Leonard couldn’t be any prouder of his players.
“All the boys enjoyed themselves, and the parents came along to cheer them on,” he said. “Kids raising money for kids is always a good idea. All the young players deserve so much praise.”
