ARSENAL Under-21s’ impressive start to the new Premier League season continued on Saturday as they eased to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Blackburn at the Emirates Stadium.

Sanchez Watt opened the scoring in the 14th minute when he raced on to Chuks Aneke’s delightful through-ball and slotted it under the onrushing goalkeeper.

Thomas Eisfeld doubled the advantage from close range on the stroke of half time before Conor Henderson wrapped up the win on 73 minutes when his deflected drive gave the lively 5,600 crowd another reason to cheer.

Head development coach Terry Burton said after the final whistle, “I was delighted. From back to front everybody gave a good account of themselves. They tried to play the right way, and mixed it up between patience and penetration. It was excellent – I wasn’t disappointed with anyone.”
