TOP side Camden started brightly against Newham at Regent’s Park on Sunday, with striker Sophie Langman coming close in the opening stages.
The early pressure paid off after 10 minutes when skipper Jaclyn Thayer thumped in an emphatic shot, but the home side were unable to capitalise on their early lead.
Newham rallied after the beak and defender Lara Mackin pulled off a fine headed clearance to keep Town ahead.
The loss of Thayer to a suspected achilles injury put Town on the backfoot but the home side held on to extend their lead over Spurs to eight points.
Town host Watford Development in the last game of the year on Sunday at Regent’s Park, kick-off at 2pm.
