STRIKER Paul Reid struck twice as Reddot held on to top spot in Division One of the Camden Sunday League with a convincing win over Dinamo Dorigo.
Tony Dowsett and John Purcell also found the back of the net as the Dots wrapped up a 4-0 victory.
Cobden Athletic are among the teams hot on Reddot’s heels following their 6-4 win over AFC Brasenose.
Jason Williams and Kaleb King both bagged a brace in a blistering first half that saw Cobden score three goals in the opening six minutes.
Williams went on to complete his hat-trick from the penalty spot, and with an own-goal adding to Brasenose’s woes the game looked well and truly over as The Cons opened up a 6-1 lead.
To their credit Brasenose battled back and scored three unanswered goals to make it 6-4, but in the end Cobden held out for the win to move within a point of Reddot with three games in hand.
Phoenix are currently third and very much in the mix as they trail Reddot by seven points but have a whopping five goals in hand.
They eased to a 6-0 victory over MDM with Lewis Laws being voted man-of-the-match for the second game in a row after scoring twice.
Gio Falzone, Charlie Kanaris, Robert O’Brien and Jamie Killingback also all chipped in with goals.
Athletico Annies beat AFC Shooters 8-0 to net the biggest win of the weekend.
Joseph Michael Thompson scored twice after Alan Covington had opened the scoring with a strike from 20 yards.
Captain Ben Flynn, Kurt Freeney, Ted Barham and Daniel Glaude were also all on target, with an own-goal completing the rout.
