TEAMS cheered their trophy triumphs as they celebrated another pulsating season in the Camden and Regent’s Park Football Youth League.

Managers, players and fans joined forces just before Easter to share their successes at the Hub in Regent’s Park before the football pitches are quickly transformed for the cricketers.

Among the stars of the show was Zak Miles, who scored twice and grabbed three assists to help VCC Islington Red win the Under-13s Challenge Cup. Player-of-the-match Petrit Krasniqi and Henry Musaj were also among the goals as the Reds secured an impressive 5-1 victory over Islington Admiral United.

Jack Price scored for Admiral, while team-mates Harvey Cadden and Javain St Marie were also singled out for praise.

There was also a special mention for Admiral’s Tommy Tumbridge, 10, who more than held his own in the cup final despite playing up two age groups.

There were mixed emotions for The Heath FC as they added yet more silverware to their trophy cabinet.

One of the club’s talented under-9s sides were jumping for joy as they collected their reward for winning the league title.

Their club-mates, however, were agonisingly beaten on penalties in the final of the Under-9s Challenge Cup by Queen’s Park Sharks after going through the entire competition without conceding a single goal.

Striker Frankie Taylor was on hand to pick up the championship trophy on behalf of Sport London e Benfica, who were crowned Under-10s champions.

Players from Honest Sausage FC were also full of smiles after winning the Under-11s title.
