Lyndhurst Hall 1985

• I WAS very interested to read the article on Lyndhurst Hall, (How Lyndhurst Hall became a Kentish Town institution, April 14).

I was a member of Camden Chess Club from 1973 to 1990 when it became sadly defunct; and met at the hall before moving for its last few years elsewhere.

I have happy memories of the place and particularly recall the simultaneous exhibition given by former world chess champion Mikhail Tal and Yugoslav grandmaster Svetozar Gligorić with whom I obtained a draw.
