Kentish Town-Auntie Annies Porter House-2001

Great memories at Auntie Annie’s

• RICHARD Osley’s feature on the future of what was once Auntie Annie’s Porter House will have brought back great memories to so many readers – especially the picture of it in its splendour of red and yellow that brought so much life to the corner of Kentish Town Road and Patshull Road, (Meat grill cafe plans move into empty Kentish Town pub, October 1).

Many readers will remember the late Oliver Connolly (RIP) and the great atmosphere that existed there in its heyday under his stewardship.

The article points out that a pub has stood on the corner since 1869. Whatever happens I hope it won’t be another 150 years before we get a place on the site with the same life and atmosphere of Auntie Annie’s.
