A FIRST floor flat above a shop in Camden High Street was destroyed by a fire this afternoon (Thursday).

London Fire Brigade said in total they received 27 calls to reports of the fire.

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended the scene at the junction with Plender Street just before 1pm. The fire was under control about an hour later.

London Ambulance Service was called, but they were stood down as no one was injured.

Fire crews from Euston, Kentish Town, Soho and Holloway fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, LFB said.
