Five at finals – Swimmers’ English Schools medals

FIVE Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers were selected to represent London at the English Schools Finals in Liverpool at the weekend.

Competing in the senior girls’ category, Rosie Hughes took silver in the 100m backstroke and Jessica Hobbs bagged a bronze in the 100m butterfly.  

Team-mate Sophie Rittenhouse just missed out on the podium as she finished fourth in the 200m backstroke, as did Sarah Taylor Reid who finished fourth and fifth in her respective 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

In the senior girls’ 4x100m medley relay, Rosie, Sarah and Jessica were joined by Lauren Walton of Beckenham Swimming Club to secure silver, with Rosie also winning silver in the freestyle relay.

Meanwhile club-mate Olivia Willis was sixth in the girls’ intermediate age group 100m backstroke.

The London region finished fourth overall with the senior girls squad taking second place in their category.
