NEWLY formed junior rugby club the Regent’s Park Royals RFC hosted their first ever home fixtures on Sunday as they entertained rivals Hampstead RFC in a series of fun matches.

The clubs both brought three age groups to Regent’s Park, with players ranging from Under-9s to Under-12s.

All the youngsters enjoyed a testing training session before taking part in three action-packed friendlies.

Head Coach at Regent’s Park, Greg Forster, said: “It’s fantastic to see 70 to 80 children enjoying playing rugby. The club didn’t exist 18 months ago so it’s a great achievement.

“We hope to keep expanding the junior club and offering more children the chance to play this great game!”
