FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in Chalk Farm on Saturday morning after being alerted to smoke coming from a flat by a passer-by.

The London Fire Brigade said it believed the cause of the fire at a property in Belmont Street was accidental. More than 20 firefighters were at the scene. Nobody was inside the flat at the time.
