PRIME minister Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie Symonds have both been fined for breaking lockdown rules at Downing Street parties – but mystery remains over whether former aide Henry Newman has too.

Mr Newman, who is stepping down as a councillor in Frognal next month, has remained tight-lipped over whether he has been caught up in the investigation. He had been named by national press as a possible attendee with Mrs Johnson – the pair are famously great friends – at a garden party at  No 10.

The local Conservative Party are not commenting on the issue, and insist they only work on topics that they can have a direct influence over.

But Lib Dem leader Luisa Porritt last night (Wednesday) sent the local Tories a new letter demanding they condemn the PM and asked whether Mr Newman has been asked if he had broken the rules and what action has been taken.
