ALAN “Avalanche” Higgins will step between the ropes for his sixth professional fight on Saturday when he squares up against Raimonds Sniedze at the York Hall in Bethnal Green.

The middleweight, who grew up in Kilburn, will be in confident mood ahead of the bout having sharpened his skills during a two-week training camp in Denmark. Especially as one of the men who put him through his paces was Patrick Nielsen, who is currently ranked as one of the best middleweights in the world.

Alan revealed he is confident that his Latvian opponent won’t get the chance to hear the final bell in their six rounder.

“I’m feeling fit so I don’t think I’ll have any problems. I’ve been sparring with a fighter who fourth in the WBA world rankings and it doesn’t get much tougher than that. My attitude is I want the knockout, I want my record to read four stoppages in six fights.”
