TRIUMPHANT young fencers from Camden Fencing Club made their point at the weekend when the club dominated the National Cadet and Junior Championships in Kent.

On Saturday the club secured their sixth successive cadet title thanks to the efforts of Rubin Amsalem, who defeated William Deary from Truro Fencing Club 15-11 in the final.

There were also medals for William Moore and Jonathon Webb who narrowly lost in their semi-finals.

On Sunday Soji Aiyenuro continued to fly the flag for Camden when he beat Kirk Slankard 15-9 to win the junior sabre event.

Aiyenuro (pictured right with his winner’s trophy) was unbeaten throughout, with his closest contest coming in the semi-final against
club-mate Camille Van Hoffelen, who he beat 15-11.
