A rat tucks into dumped waste at Bacton Tower
• THERE has been an ongoing concern at Bacton Tower in NW5 over the years, where some dump their domestic waste and furniture against the wall of the tower block.
Videos and photographs have been sent of rats feeding out of these bags with a request for the council to inform residents to cease this. It is a health and safety and fire risk issue, and an offence to fly-tip.
There is a perception of indifference and resentment by the council when tenants expose their failure to find meaningful solutions.
The council eventually despatched a letter requesting that such material should not be left in the area but then added that if materials are left, could they be left neat and tidy – such logic.
While the situation has improved, thanks to our local councillor, it continues with furniture being kicked around the car park last weekend and bags still being left.

This area is covered with CCTV, it should not be that difficult to find out who is responsible.
