Fast-moving traffic has long been a danger

• DISCUSSION of Camden’s proposals for Haverstock Hill and Rosslyn Hill has focused on cycle provision, and tended to ignore the very significant pedestrian improvements, which include four new zebra crossings and one new “signalised” crossing.

The fast-moving traffic has long been a danger to pedestrians trying to cross the road. The new provisions will reduce that danger and encourage and enable people to walk, with all the associated health benefits.

London Living Streets notes that the Royal Free Hospital has supported the improvements and urges readers to do so.

Improved pedestrian conditions are likely to lead to increased footfall and consequent benefits for businesses, especially as car ownership is low in several areas along the route.
