Dave Brooks

• SO sad to see my old friend, Dave – bagpipes – Brooks, has blown his last tune.

Apart from being a delightful companion and great raconteur, Dave, a pond-swimmer himself, would nearly always be there at the funerals of other swimmers, piping them to that great pond in the sky.

I hope he’s been given a suitably musical job there himself.

May he pipe in peace.
