THERE were family fortunes in the Chalk Farm Pool League on Monday as father and son Mick and Simon Ward joined forces to earn the Lion the bragging rights over club-mates the Golden Lion.
The doubles duo (pictured) won the decisive frame at the pub in Royal College Street, Camden Town, to make sure their team pocketed a 5-4 victory over their first division rivals.
Defending champions Sir Robert Peel extended their lead at the top of the table to 14 points with a 6-3 victory over closest rivals Boston Arms.
The defeat allowed King’s Cross Hurricanes to leapfrog Boston Arms and move into second spot following their resounding 8-1 win over rivals Slattery’s Squatters.
