Experimental traffic orders give car drivers no say

Friday, 7th May 2021

• COUNCILLOR Adam Harrison happily states: “We have seen schemes where we’ve had as much as a 200 per cent rise in cycling uptake”, (Traffic orders: Are we on the right road? April 29).

Could he please let us know where in Camden this uptake has taken place and how the figures were obtained? As a resident of Arlington Road, I say no such figures have been achieved here.

There has been an increase, though, in the use of illegal e-scooters, riders moving around as though they own the road, and pavements. I presume these illegal e-scooter riders form part of Cllr Harrison’s figures?

All the experimental traffic orders have only been put in place with the help and heavy pressure from the biased, anti-car, cycling groups. Car owners have no say.

The results are now more traffic congestion and pollution only being caused by lane closures and traffic being diverted, not from more vehicle numbers.
