SUSAN Craggs – head of adult community education at the Mary Ward Centre – is planning a fundraising trek to Everest Base Camp. Her November journey to the Himalayas, Nepal, is raising funds for the adult education centre in Bloomsbury. The centre awarded 194 students last year with bursaries towards fees, travel and childcare costs.

Ms Craggs said: “Without this support they would not have been able to attend their classes that are vital to improving their lives. The more funds I raise the more people will benefit from our services.”
