• THERE is this great clamour for the resettlement of Ukrainian refugees in the boroughs of Islington and Camden.

What about those on waiting lists for up to 20 years, and living in a series of poor, and overpriced, accommodation in the private sector?

I remember the post-war Ukrainian refugees, back in the early 1950s, working on a hydro-electric dam in a remote part of Scotland when I myself worked there during that period.

The British government of the day let them in despite the authorities of the Soviet Union wishing to interview them for war crimes carried out when acting as collaborators with the Nazi occupier.

There has been a revival of Nazi sympathies in the modern Ukraine.

Ukraine is de facto a member of NATO due to being supplied with NATO arms over the years.
