FORMER Parliament Hill School pupil Emma Hayes is the new manager of Chelsea Ladies.

The 35-year-old, who assisted Vic Akers in Arsenal Ladies’ Quadruple winning season of 2007, kicked off her new job with a win over Doncaster Belles at the weekend.

Hayes, who returns from the US after spells as coach of pro sides Chicago Red Stars and Washington Freedom, was taking a breather from coaching but says she was inspired to return by the 2012 Olympic

Games. “I’m there until the end of the season,” she told the New Journal. “I’m excited, there’s a really good group of young players and we want to push on and finish as high as we possibly can.”

Meanwhile, substitute Jordan Nobbs salvaged a point for Arsenal Ladies as they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Everton on Sunday.

Gunner Kim Little scored from the spot either side of goals from Fara Williams and Lucy Bronze, before Jordan’s saving strike.

Laura Harvey’s side remain top of the WSL ahead of their visit to bottom side Donny Belles on Saturday.
