Camden Elite celebrate winning the Camden & Islington Youth League Development Cup on Saturday

A TOP squad of free-scoring footballers reigned in the rain on Saturday as they beat all-comers to clinch the Camden & Islington Youth League Development Cup.

Camden Elite put together a scintillating run of seven straight wins in the under-11s competition at Market Road, culminating in a 1-0 victory over Hackney Borough in the final.

Hotshot Taha Jaouadi was singled out for praise by head coach Sebastian Eurico, who also credited “a tremendous team effort” for Elite’s latest silverware success.

He said: “Taha was exceptional, he just kept on scoring. He scored two or even three goals in each of our knockout matches, and then fittingly grabbed the winner in the final.

“But it took a tremendous performance from all the players to walk away with the winners’ trophy. We were very attack minded, and also solid at the back – conceding just one goal throughout the entire tournament.”
