ST PANCRAS ABC is “firmly back on the boxing map” after their second show of the year packed a mighty punch at the Irish Centre in Camden.

Almost 300 fight fans gathered at the venue in Camden Square to enjoy 12 blazing bouts last Wednesday as the club held their eagerly-awaited open show.
The fight of the night saw Aaron Donohue beat Jonathan Kumuteo from Finchley ABC.

Afterwards the show-stealing Saints’ senior tweeted, “So happy I won my fight and won fight of the night. Boxed a strong kid. Love my team.”

Triumphant trio Bilal Bakali, Joe Peet and Pawel Michalczyk also all scored impressive wins for the host club, which is based in Talacre Road, Kentish Town.

Head coach CJ Hussein revealed afterwards that the action inside the ring was only equalled by all of the support out of it.

“First and foremost I want to thank the crowd – they created a real buzz and showed tremendous spirit all night.

“I also want to thank the coaches and, of course, all the fighters. It was an electric show and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves.

“St Pancras Amateur Boxing Club has been firmly put back on the boxing map.”

• The good news kept rolling in for the Saints with word that London champion Kian Thomas secured a place in the semi-finals of the National Novice Championships.
