THE Earlsberg Eagles are in the quarter-finals of the West End Challenge Trophy after fighting back from 2-0 down to beat Clissold Park Rangers on Saturday at Victoria Park.
Player-manager Kris Culley couldn’t have been blamed for thinking it was going to be one of those days. First he had to play in goal after his usual shot-stopper Ben Asamoah turned up at the pitches at Regent’s Park by mistake and ended up missing kick-off.
That gave Culley a front row seat to see his side go 2-0 down within the opening 25 minutes.
Striker Kalem Noble sparked a comeback on the half hour mark with a neat chip. Kayan Kalipha then scored two thunderbolts to earn the Eagles a 3-2 victory.
