MCFLY drummer and cricket superfan Harry Judd visited Lord’s this week to champion the first-ever women’s Test match to be staged at the iconic ground in St John’s Wood.

During his visit, the musician met with London Spirit stars Lucy Higham and Josie Groves to chat about the showdown between England and India, which gets underway next Friday, July 10. With nearly 30,000 tickets sold, the big match is already breaking attendance records.

The four-day Test is the centrepiece of a landmark summer for women’s cricket at Lord’s, with four ICC Women’s T20 World Cup ties also taking place at the Home of Cricket.

“There really is nothing like this,” said Harry. “You don’t have to know everything about cricket. It’s all about being part of the crowd and experiencing those moments.

“Come in, soak up that festival atmosphere, and learn as you go.”

While in north London the pop star’s cricket knowledge was put to the test, as he was quizzed on the ways that a batter can be dismissed – with Harry naming 10 ways to get out.

Harry, Lucy and Josie also took the chance to join a group of young cricketers to demonstrate their skills.
