‘Drug sweets' investigation: Police make two arrests

POLICE investigating how 17 children fell unwell while at school after eating psychoactive sweets containing with THC have arrested a man and a woman.
Officers said a 41-year-old man had been arrested last night (Wednesday) on suspicion possession of cannabis and child neglect (exposure to harm) after an incident at La Sainte Union School in Highgate earlier this week.
Then, today (Thursday), police arrested a 24-year-old woman, also on suspicion of possession of cannabis and child neglect (exposure to harm). She is currently in custody.

As the New Journal reported on Monday, pupils were taken to hospital in a convoy of ambulances. They were suffering from dizziness and nausea. All have recovered.

Police said the sweets were believed to be packaged as ‘medicated Nerds’ and contained tetrahydrocannabinol – THC – the psychoactive component of cannabis.
