Under-8s Division

CAPTAIN Freddie Winifield led by example on Saturday as he scored twice to help Chapel Youth beat Isledon Wolves at Market Road. Jessie Aldridge also scored as Chapel ran out 3-0 winners.

Under-9s Division

HOTSHOT Jack McKeown kept up his fine goal-scoring form on Monday as Angel Islington drew 1-1 with Crown and Manor. Dylan Simson was voted Angel’s player-of-the-match.

Under-10s A Division

TWO goals apiece from Elliot Brennan and Emmanual Makaya helped Lyndhurst return to form with an impressive 4-2 victory over league leaders Heath Foxes on Friday.

Frankie Sabine, Ben Julian and Serak Seyoum all put in outstanding displays to cap a fine team performance from Lyndhurst.

ANGEL Islington took full advantage of the Heath’s defeat as they moved within touching distance of top spot with two wins in four days.

On Monday Julian Sarmiento scored a dramatic late winner to earn them a 1-0 victory over Futebol de Salao.

The result followed on from Angel’s 4-1 win over Regent’s Park on Friday. Drew Durnan stole the show with a scintillating hat-trick, while Jack Cruise was also on target.

Under-13s A Division

ISLEDON Wolves hit top gear on Tuesday as they smashed in 10 goals against Sapo Verde to stay hot on the heels of title rivals Futebol de Salao and Highgate Rangers.

Ethan Irvine led the charge with a hat-trick, the pick of the goals seeing him brilliantly flick the ball into the back of the net from a corner.

The Lea-Bramble twins were also both on target with Herbie bagging a brace and Harv grabbing one. David Mehmeti, Keiron Loughney, Daniel Kapfunde and Bradley Carrete completed the scoring.

Under-15s Division

GOALS from Daniel Leonard and Callum Cushing helped Lyndhurst maintain their lead at the top of the table on Friday courtesy of a 2-0 win over Finsbury Park.

Under-12s Division

CHAPEL Youth showed their strength in depth on Saturday as they boasted four different scorers against Kinja.

Tyler Peters, Charlie Osborn, Jamaine Mugenyi and Max Tyson all found the back of the net in a convincing 4-0 victory.

After watching them keep their first clean-sheet of the season the manager said goalkeeper Jamie White and defenders Harry Bailey, Jonny English and Benjamin Ball were all the men-of-the-match.

Year 6 the best of the best

PLAYERS from Camden’s Year 6 district football team reaped the rewards for being “the best footballing side” in the capital when they won the Tower Hamlets Seven-a-Side Cup.

Player-of-the tournament J’neil Bennett scored twice in the final as the triumphant team netted a 2-1 victory over South London.

The St Michael’s schoolboy also scored the winner as Camden beat rivals Islington 1-0 in the semi-finals. Sports development officer Abul Koyar, who runs the side with Shaun Taylor, said: “The boys showed great unity and got better with every game. They were easily the best footballing side in the tournament.”
