COACH Sebastian Eurico has heaped praise on his newest crop of young footballers – but insists it has nothing to do with the fact that they’ve scored a staggering 78 goals in just seven games.

Camden Elite’s Under-9s have taken both the Camden and Islington Midweek Youth League and the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League by storm this season.

And even though the leagues don’t record league tables or results for that age group, Sebastian says that his boys are still keeping score of just how well they’re doing.

“They’re the dream team, the super squad,” he said.

“As a team they know how to pass and move, and as individuals they know how to beat players and use the space to maximum effect. I’ve got a team of complete ballers.

“The fact they’ve scored 78 goals in seven games has nothing to do with it,” insisted Sebastian.

“It’s the way they’re playing, and some of the fantastic team goals that they’re scoring. They’re a magnificent side to coach, and it’s great watching them play football.”

Despite seeing his side win 16-1 on three separate occasions already this season, Sebastian added that the results are not important to him.

“The games will continue to get harder as the season wears on, the boys can’t expect to hit double figures every time they step out onto the pitch,” he said.

“The results are simply not important.

“What’s important is that all the boys continue to learn and improve, and become better players.

“As their coach that’s what I’m here for, and that’s my important goal.”
