David Pitt – the doctor who saved me

Dr David Pitt
• WHEN I read your Black History Makers supplement (October 22) I was so happy to see you included Dr David Pitt.
I am white English and I always said a big thank-you to Dr David Pitt as he helped to save my life as a baby. If his children are still in London I would like to meet them.
When we left Churchway, Somers Town, we could not find a doctor as nice as Dr David Pitt. And when he became Lord Pitt (of Hampstead) I told my friends it was because he helped to save my life.
You still will not find a doctor as good as Lord Pitt. In our family we were – Henry, Doris, Deanna, Carol, Patricia, and Philip, Chadburn. Mum and dad are no longer with us.
