London County Cup Final
PLAYERS from The Pro Touch Soccer Academy and Somers Town FC can proudly call themselves the kings of the capital after capturing the prestigious London County Cup.
Pro Touch won the Under-13s competition after two goals from striker Calvin Ughelumba and a strike from winger Burak Sezek sealed a 3-2 win over Winchmore Hill.
Somers Town were also celebrating after coming from a goal down to beat Lambeth All-Stars in the final of the Under-14s Cup. The side had to dig deep as they lost goalkeeper and captain Ervine Kimpalu-Mbaya after only 15 minutes to injury.
Town’s luck didn’t look like it was about to change for the better as they hit the woodwork twice and were denied what looked a clear penalty before Lambeth scored on the breakaway.
But, to their credit, spirited Somers Town battled back to earn a 2-1 victory thanks to a clinical finish from man-of-the-match Nicholas Mesa and a well-dispatched penalty from Eliezer Kafuti.
