Apparently calling for a ceasefire now actually means the exact opposite in “encouraging Hamas to rearm” and driving “all Jews” living in Israel “into the sea”.

It would seem that if this is the case then words themselves have no meaning any more.

It is, of course, far easier to assign imaginary and invented views to your opponents, and then knock them down, than to actually engage with reality.

Ceasefire now means exactly what it says, an immediate end to the preventable suffering for the hundreds of thousands of civilians with no escape from the conflict.

Casualty numbers of 30,000 Palestinian and 1,500 Israeli are “unparalleled” indeed. While it may be easier to imply these horrifying numbers have been falsified, Human Rights Watch have conducted their own investigation and concluded that the Gaza health ministry’s totals are reliable.
