Sabre stars Soji Aiyenuro and Aliya Itzkowitz have struck gold for Camden Fencing Club
They dominated the Welsh Open, which was held in Cardiff at the weekend.
More than 450 fencers from all over Britain turned up to take part in the prestigious competition, one of the largest and strongest senior championships to compete in.
The men’s event saw Camden's Curtis Miller and Soji seeded fourth and 12th respectively after the pool matches.
Curtis went on to beat former British No 1 Neil Hutchinson 15-13, before being paired against club-mate Soji.
Soji has gained the upper hand in matches between the two in recent times, which continued as he produced a 15-8 victory against his close friend.
Soji then comfortably despatched Stephen Rocks 15-10 in semi-final, before beating Stephen Marshall 15-8 in the final to win the men’s sabre title.
In the women’s event Aliya came out of the pooles seeded only 9th, but instantly became the one to watch as she beat top seed Kira Roberts 15-4 in last eight.
She then defeated Helen Fairhead 15-4 in semi-finals, before narrowly overcoming former senior international Kate Hendra 15-14 in the final.
