PLAYERS from Hampstead School couldn’t hide their delight after seeing off competition from 52 other schools to win the Inner London Bliss Trophy Cup.
The triumphant team from Westbere Road became the first Camden school to win the prestigious competition, which has been running since 1977, when they beat Forest Hill 5-4 in an epic final last Thursday.
The achievement adds to the success the Year 11 side netted back in May when they won the Camden & Islington Cup at the Emirates Stadium.
Delighted coach Nicholas Kemp said: “This is a massive achievement for Hampstead School.
I have been coaching the team since they were in Year 7 and watching them progress has been fulfilling. I am so proud of them for winning not only the Camden & Islington Cup but also the Inner London Bliss Trophy Cup, which now sits proudly in Hampstead School’s trophy cabinet.”
School head Jacques Szemalikowski added: “It’s a major double for Hampstead School’s sporting prowess!”
