A SERIAL rapist who targeted women as they walked home has been jailed for life.

Francis Mukendi, 27, was told he must spend at least 15 years in prison after being found guilty of four rapes, three attempted rapes, two further sexual assaults and four counts of carrying a knife.

He followed his victims –all from Camden – and attacked them on their doorstep as they were distracted getting their keys out. Mukendi armed himself with a knife or a hammer.

Chief Superintendent Andy Carter said after the sentencing on Friday: “He is an extremely dangerous offender who targeted these women as they walked home alone in the dark.”

He added: “I would like to thank the victims for their continued bravery and commitment to support this investigation over a considerable period of time. I would like to pay tribute to them for providing crucial evidence to ensure Mukendi cannot subject others to such horrific attacks.”

The offences against six women took place between September 2017 and December 2019.
